On 13-14 December 2016 the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy organized a final conference for the Programme PL14 “Domestic and Gender-based Violence”
The purpose of the conference was to present the results of the Programme and projects and to exchange experience with experts from Donor States. The event was financed by the EEA and Norway Grants under the Fund for Bilateral Relations. The event gathered 130 participants from Poland, Norway and Iceland.
Ms. Tale Kandal, Minister Counsellor at the Norwegian Embassy in Warsaw welcomed participants and delivered a speech on Norwegian involvement in preventing violence against women and children.
Ms. Krystyna Wyrwicka, Director of the Department of Social Assistance and Integration, and Ms. Marzena Bartosiewicz, Deputy Director, thanked the Donors for their generous support and presented the objectives and results of the Programme PL14.
A representative of the National Focal Point, Ms Malgorzata Zalewska, Deputy Director of the Department of Aid Programmes of the Ministry of Development, presented Financial Mechanisms in Poland in the perspective 2009-2014.
The participants had a chance to share good practices in the field of preventing and combating domestic violence. Ms Nina Antonsen from ATV in Bergen delivered a presentation on working with perpetrators. Ms Ólöf Ásta Farestveit and Ms Thorbjörg Sveinsdóttir introduced the methods of interviewing children in the Barnehus in Reykjavik and Ms Trine Eikram from Enerhaugen Family Therapy Centre in Oslo talked about prevention, intervention and therapy for families and children struggling with conflicts and violence.
The second day of the conference focused on the results of the Programme and projects. The role of the Council of Europe, Partner in the Project “Polish family-free from violence” was highlighted by Ms. Marta Becerra, Programme Advisor.
